Certified Yoga Teacher Training Program
Fall 2011 - Spring 2012 | Fall 2012 - Spring 2013

This training is for yoga students, who are interested in deepening their practice and sharing the benefits of yoga with others as a Niroga Certified Yoga Teacher. This is a comprehensive training held in a nurturing environment along with teacher trainees from Niroga's Integral Health Fellows program.

Pre-requisites

  • A sincere desire to learn yoga, live yoga, and give yoga.
  • At least 1-year of consistent yoga practice experience in a class setting and/or at home.
  • At least 1-year of maintaining a consistent, personal yoga practice at home; or enrollment in Niroga’s Deepening Personal Practice (DPP) Module beginning August 1, 2012.  Please see training curriculum for details.

Niroga's program will not only give you training in leading basic poses, breathwork and centering, but will give you a solid grounding in yoga philosophy, and physiology, to integrate and apply yoga for wellness. For more information and application, click here.

Certified Yoga Teacher Training Fellowship (IHF) Program for People of Color
Fall 2011 - Spring 2012 | Fall 2012 - Spring 2013

This is a two-year fellowship program for people of color. The program consists of Niroga’s Certified Yoga Teacher Training in the first year, followed by 100 hours of community service in the second year. The scholarship amount is based on income. Deadline for applications is June 17, 2012, with interviews being scheduled soon thereafter.

Pre-requisites

  • A sincere desire to learn yoga, live yoga, and give yoga.
  • At least 1-year of consistent yoga practice experience in a class setting and/or at home.
  • At least 1-year of maintaining a consistent, personal yoga practice at home; or enrollment in Niroga’s Deepening Personal Practice (DPP) Module beginning August 1, 2012.  Please see training curriculum for details.
  • At least 18-years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
  • The ability to complete 100 hours of yoga-based community service in Alameda County within 1-year (approx. 2 hours/week) after completing Niroga’s Yoga Teacher Training Program.
